A New System
The Kingdom of Morkskovia, obviously, is a Kingdom. The land is governed by a constitution, so in this way, it is a Constitutional Monarchy. However, it is one unlike any other in the world. In most other Constitutional Monarchies, the legislative body consists of Parliament, which is a group of elected representatives, and the power to make laws rests in their hands. This normally works fairly well, but at times, the representatives become corrupt and power-hungry. The Legislative power is joint in the Kingdom of Morkskovia. The King may propose laws, and the people vote on them. If the people would like to pass a law amongst themselves, they may. To protect the people from tyranny, there is a way for the people to "impeach" a monarch, in which case he will be removed from the throne and replaced by his heir. The General of the Royal Army always takes the side of the people when the people and their King or Queen conflict one another. In this way, the citizens are guaranteed their protection from tyranny and fascism.

The current King of the Morkskovians is HM Heath I of the House of DeGarmeaux. He has been on the throne since the date of Morkskovia's founding, and played a very large role in the shaping of the country. King Heath's long list of achievements as King includes the leading of many expeditions in to the Western frontiers, the construction of a stockade*, the drafting and ratification of a Constitution, the formation of a defensive force**, and the recruitment of several hundred citizens***. The first Morkskovian Constitution was drafted and finalized by the King, and twenty three members of the government and citizenry signed it into effect on December 21st, 2010. King Heath continues to work to perfect the land of his brothers and sisters and will not rest until all Morkskovians have a safe home. If you would like to send the King an email, see the contact page.

***A long hiatus on Morkskovian operations has seen citizen numbers dwindle into the dozens, though with a restart of operations, this shall change.
